Under Your Possession (free) 03:34
Just like a gun, your memory is placing rounds in the heart of me. From the back of my tongue to Gethsemane, sacred ground is walked with haunted feet. Under your possession. You little pills are blessings. Under your possession. I’ve got you on my mind. Don’t try to run. What you running from. They’ll chase you down. They’re waiting in the street. And you can hide from everyone. (And you can hide but you’ll be found) Save your prayers. Kiss the men they beat. Under your possession. You little pills are blessings. Under your possession. I’ve got you on my mind. I could never stand to turn my back on you. Relationships are built on trust. Picking off the cherries that have asked you. To lighten up your crush. Drops in the sun. What you fed to me washes down oceans worth of heat. And when life is all done (Who’s gonna chase the glass you drown) fix my hair, and burn a Rome for me. Under your possession. You little pills are blessings. Under your possession. I’ve got you on my mind.

Suffer Like A Ghost (free) 02:45
Did you get on. The only train that leaves for home is left and gone. The rest means nothing. You will suffer like a ghost. You will suffer like a ghost. When you get off. When you get off the phone at dawn you’ll be alone. The rest means nothing. You will suffer like a ghost. You will suffer like a ghost. Something is gone. Somebody slept while all the best they had was pawned. The rest means nothing. You will suffer like a ghost. You will suffer like a ghost. You will suffer like a ghost. You will suffer like a ghost.

And to the sound of morning I opened my eyes. There was a crowd performing my last rites. And they’re whispering things to make sure I see the ones that got away will bury me. There’s only two excuses that could make it alright. Either you lost your cellphone or your in hell tonight. And if you’re going down you’ll be following me. The ones that got away will bury me. Baby life is hard. The dirt flies up. You get one chance. The shovels cut. And pack down the hope they’d offered up and leave you holding to dirt and dust. I’ve got a hard feeling that there’s no time. Did all I could and watched them dim my light. And I’ll never look beyond it to see. The ones that got away will bury me. And we bid you goodnight. Walking in Jerusalem just like John. Tell A for the arc, that wonderful boat. Walking in the valley of the shadow of death. Looking out from here to where you’re standing baby, it’s getting late. Too late tonight for your dreams to come true. We bid you goodnight. The ones that got away will bury me. Goodnight. The ones that got away will bury me. Goodnight. The ones that got away will bury me. Goodnight. The ones that got away will bury me. Goodnight.

The House You Haunt (free) 03:30
Go through the night. I go through the night with dreams of you. Put up a fight. I put up a fight and lost it too. What if it’s true. We can’t all get home. What if it’s true. We can’t all get home. Here it is. The house that you haunt. Here it is. The house that you haunt. We’ll meet in a life. We’ll meet in a life where it all came true. Heart like a knife. My heart like a knife, to cut to you. What if it’s true. We can’t all get home. What if it’s true. We can’t all get home. Here it is. The house that you haunt. Here it is. The house that you haunt. Summer’s gone. And young is gone. Open up your eyes. Open up your eye. Open up your eyes. Open your eyes. Don’t leave me alone. Don’t leave me alone. Don’t leave me alone. It’s too late tonight. It’s too late tonight to care what’s true. All that felt right. All that felt right felt close to you. What if it’s true. We can’t all get home. What if it’s true. We can’t all get home. Here it is. The house that you haunt. Here it is. The house that you haunt. And summer’s gone. And young is gone. Open up your eyes. Open up your eyes. Open up your eyes. Open your eyes. Don’t leave me alone. Don’t me alone. Don’t leave me alone.

Faith But Waiting (free) 02:20
You’ve been fake. You’ve been smart. You can wait. I can too. In the late final dark all my light’s turned on for you. Full of faith I’m waiting for you. What is faith but waiting. And the rest is life, and long and true. Full of faith I’m waiting. Let it rain. Let it scar. You’ve got a face worth the abuse. “All in vain” say the stars, but baby the stars are in vain too. Full of faith I’m waiting for you. What is faith but waiting. And the rest is life, and long and true. Full of faith I’m waiting. Baby I’ve gone this far for proof that this sad world of ours is not to sad for me and you. That’s a mean kiss and hug to forget how to do. Say “give up”. Give up what. It’s been given all to you. Full of faith I’m waiting for you. What is faith but waiting. And the rest is life, and long and true. Full of faith I’m waiting.

BIO:
Zak Smith’s songwriting and lyrical talent is something beyond a pencil & a piece of paper. It's what you feel when you get wrapped up in his words and emotions while fighting the urge to drop to your knees in surrender or jump out of your seat in celebration. Influenced by his roots of Leonard Cohen & Bruce Springsteen, Zak reveals prevailing choruses and melodic hooks in an alternative rock genre. His music has been described by critics as “haunting indie rock with Americana accents” (Berkeley Place), as “rocks with oodles of soul” (Muzik Reviews), and as "someone opening up their life to you" (Jersey Beat).

Born in New Jersey, Zak started playing in bands at a young age. Flourishing as a prolific songwriter and lyricist over time, he pursued the ideal musicians who would felicitate his brand. Zak has found his match with this group of great friends and experienced musicians, and in 2010 he formed his band in New York City. The band is Zak on guitar and vocals, Gavi Grodsky on guitar, Dave Smith on bass, Keith Robinson on drums, Milan Sudzuk on keyboards, and Jessica Labus on backing vocals.

Playing mostly in the New York City area, 2011 has been a great year of spreading Zak's music nationally. He's been on a couple successful east coast tours, received coast to coast buzz from his ep, Haunted Feet, released in January 2011, and has built some powerful new fan involvement. Full steam ahead, it looks to be a ground breaking year for Zak Smith as he's ready to release a self-titled album - April 2012.
